I am an award-winning writer, editor, and journalist, marketer and web content writer. I specialize in marketing messaging, interviews, outdoor and travel writing, and anything which uses the written word to tell a story. I can make that story come alive on the page or screen, in long form content or 140 characters. I have experience managing the communications team, from freelance writers and copyeditors, to graphic designers and agency resources. 

I also am an experienced social media strategist with experience managing Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest for a brand in both the B2B and B2C arenas. I'm adept at tracking social media metrics to optimize for business goals, and am experienced with social media marketing and contest promotion. I am experienced at managing a large budget for promoted social media posts and optimizing organic posts. I am an experienced presenter and consultant on developing a social media program. I led our company's social media efforts around a large national tradeshow, winning the InfluenceHR Marketing Award for Best Use of Social Media. 

As an experienced freelance writer, my work has appeared in Seattle Business Magazine, Seattle magazine, McSweeney's, Seattle Metropolitan magazine, Outdoors NW magazine, the Mountain Gazette, Skirt! magazine, Brain, Child magazine, This Great Society, Red Tricycle and others. My personal essay in Skirt! ("Shameful Commerce") was the gold medal winner of GAMMA award (regional magazine award for best essay).
